Back again

Well it has been a long time since I have posted any thing on my blog. Lets get every body up to speed I am no longer with Smoking Dave's we have gone our separate ways we are still friends but no more business. I am currently working for Black hawk Electric and am working hard to get my Journeyman's electrician license. I will have that soon . I have not cooked in any BBQ cookoffs in a while but the Houston Livestock Show World Championship BBQ contest is quickly approching and we will be there for that one. I cooked for two great weddings this year. I have more allready on the scedule for next year. My sister is getting married in March of 09 that should be a blast and no they wont let me cook for that one Dam . I will try to be better at this over the next year so keep checking back .....Sturm

A great showing

Well last Saturday we were at the Sugar land food and Wine Fest and it was a great hit we signed up 500 people to win a free i pod that we will give away in December. People want a i pod and at every time we do an event this summer we will have 500 entries to fill out so look out for us and win a i pod ....from Smokin' Dave's

Sorry I have not been here in a while

21 days ago my grand father died of old age. We spent a couple of day in Alexander City Al for the viewing and the funeral. We came home and my dad had knee replacement he has not gotten out of the hospital yet. It will be two weeks on Monday. He had a bad reaction to the medicine .I took a job rewiring a house in Galveston TX. I have been working in Galveston. I am still a part of Smokin' Dave's we are selling at a good pace and my go regionally with Whole Foods soon .(Lets hope it is true). As I type this we are packing to head back to Alabama since my Grand Mother (Me Me) passed this afternoon. I will get back on this blog............Soon

What a weekend

Well it was another successful World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest in Houston. We cooked allot of food and drank allot of beer and margaritas. We finished 101 out of 375 in the competition we turned in ribs that I thought they were great I just wish the judges would like them as much as I did. Well there is always next year next year and a whole lot of cook offs to go before then. Keep on Smokin' Sturm

Another good day in the neighborhood

I was at Rice Epicurean today . I sold a bunch of peppers and garlic all we need it about 5 more of me out there giving samples in stores every day and this Smokin' Dave's thing could be big. That is 5 more people just like me. On the Valentines side Wanda and I had a great dinner of Chicken Piccatta / Smokin' Dave's Smoked Garlic ,Rigatoni with Marinara,Cesar Salad and Olive Bread with 4 Cheese. Wanda made a great Chocolate cake with white icing it was a great meal if I do say so my self. I will be at Rice Epicurean Westheimer and Wesleyan tomorrow come on out and see me.

Another day selling peppers and garlic

I spent four and a half hours selling Smoked Jalapeños and Smoked Garlic at Rice yesterday. I am working with some lady's to come up with some cook books for different body types, but you all will here more about that soon. I will be at the Houston Farmers Market tonight from 3:30 until 7:00 pm selling Smoked Jalapeños and Smoked Garlic. Come on out and see me and get some.

What a weekend

Well we had the first ever Smokin' Dave's Smoked Jalapeño eating contest at the Humble BBQ cook off it was a Big success. I met Ham On The Street from the Television Food Network and gave him a couple of jars and he said he loved them and he was going help us out. I was also at Onion Creek selling at the Houston Farmers Market it was and so was the sales but I will not complain to much. I will be sampling all week at a Rice Epicurean near you come see me and get you some . Keep on Smokin' Sturm
